Greenhouse

Greenhouse is one of the biggest and best-known names in the ATS space, and I can officially say it is back! After a few years of post-VC lethargy and being outmaneuvered by several newcomers… Boom.  GH is suddenly not just relevant, but really innovative and almost exciting again!  I’ve long been a fan, so I am truly happy to see the turnaround!

Greenhouse integrates Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Candidate Relationship Management (CRM), sourcing, scheduling, and analytics into a single, user-friendly interface. With AI-powered tools, recruiters can enhance productivity, reduce time-to-hire, and gain valuable insights into their hiring funnel. Its intuitive design and automation capabilities make it a valuable asset for teams aiming to attract and engage top talent efficiently.

Founded in 2012 by Daniel Chait and Jon Stross, Greenhouse is headquartered in New York City. The company has raised a total of $110.1 million in funding over eight rounds, with the latest being a $50 million Series D round in 2018. Greenhouse serves a diverse clientele, including enterprises like DoorDash, Betterment, and MLB. Its commitment to innovation and customer-centric solutions has earned it recognition as the Best Software for Enterprise in 2024.

Pros

  • Comprehensive Platform: Integrates ATS, CRM, sourcing, scheduling, and analytics in a unified interface.
  • AI-Driven Workflows: Enhances efficiency with AI-powered features throughout the recruiting process.
  • User-Friendly Interface: Intuitive design that simplifies recruiter workflows.
  • Scalable for All Company Sizes: Suitable for startups to large enterprises.
  • Strong Industry Recognition: Awarded Best Software for Enterprise in 2024.

Cons

  • Pricing: Typically 10 to 15% above their main competitors
  • Scheduling:  Not a great scheduling tool – you may need to add Goodtime or Modernloop
  • Analytics:  Hopefully, the new AI releases will fix this, but everyone I know who uses GH hates the analytics and pays for Talentwall or another tool
  • Learning Curve: Some users may require time to fully utilize all features effectively.
