I’ve used SquarePeg for 6 months now, and it’s one of the few AI recruiting tools I’ve actually stuck with!  It’s useful in the real world, not just in a demo.

SquarePeg is a huge time-saver and helps with my most recent pain point: screening large applicant volumes littered with fraud! It’s also great for resurfacing relevant talent from the ATS, and helping to get to a stronger shortlist faster. Another big plus for me is that it does not feel like a total black-box AI, I can make sense of how the ranking works and tweak it if I disagree. If you are going to rank candidates, you need some level of transparency to ensure users and hiring teams trust it.

What’s good

  • Saves serious time on screening
  • Fraud detection thrown in for free!
  • Helps rediscover talent already sitting in the ATS
  • Integrates into existing workflows rather than creating more admin
  • I love the Chrome extension, enabling you to work from your ATS

What’s not perfect

  • Fraud detection is good, but not best in class – that said, with squarepeg fraud detection is a free additional feature and not the core product
  • You do need to invest some time in setting up each job correctly – Bad hiring criteria in = bad output out

Overall, SquarePeg is definitely one of the more credible AI tools in recruitment: practical, time-saving, and built around an actual recruiting problem.
